For Your Prayers this week

For Your Prayers this week

Why do we adore and praise God? In our selfishness we can think that through praise and adoration we can force God’s hands to bless us, however, in Matthew 5:45 we learn that God our Father blesses the righteous and unrighteous.

Habakkuk teaches us to rejoice and be joyful in the Lord even in the most tryIng situations (Habakkuk 3:17-19). The Lord is always worthy of our praise and adoration, which Job did after he lost all his children and possessions

(Job 1:20-21). Therefore, please let us daily give time to praising and adoring God, irrespective of our situation,

since He is always worthy to be praised and adored.

You can use Psalms 8, 40, 65, 98, 145, 146 & 150, one for each day of the week. Hymns and songs can help us, and I encourage you to make up and say or sing your own poems or songs of adoration and praise to the Lord. Please

continue to pray with Confession (Ps. 66:18), Adoration (Ps.33:1 & Exodus 34:6-7), and Thanksgiving (Ps. 107) using these Scripture verses to guide your prayers.

Supplication:

Every Day: Please read Jude vs.20-21, then pray for the Lord’s help to put these verses into practice in your own life.

Day 1 & 2: Please read 1 Timothy 2:1-6, then pray that our local and national politicians will act with wisdom, integrity and justice for all, particularly remembering the poor, vulnerable and marginalised.

Day 3 & 4: Please read Psalm 127:1-2, then pray that God the Holy Spirit will teach, lead and empower all our weekly and monthly activities listed on page 2, including our Sunday service.

Day 5 & 6: Please read James 2:8, then pray for the Lord to bring physical, spiritual and emotional healing and wholeness to those in our fellowship who are unwell and experiencing other known and unknown needs.

Please read 1

John 3:18, then pray for the Lord to show you how He wants you to show practical love to others,

including those within our fellowship.

Day 7: Please read Isaiah 59:8 & 14-15 and Matthew 5:9, then pray that pray that the Lord’s peacemakers

will be at work in every war-torn area of the world to bring truth, justice and peace. Please ask the Lord to show you where He wants you to be His peacemaker. You may know the saying, “When America sneezes, the world catches a cold.” This time the stakes are very high, so please let us commit to praying for the US election, as whoever is elected,

it will have a profound effect both for them and for the rest of the world. Please pray that they will take place and be completed in a godly and peaceful manner. Please also pray that God’s good, pleasing and perfect will, will be done

with respect to who is elected as president.
